Automobile Magazine

Scott Dukes Photography cover and cover story for Automobile Magazine, July 2010.

Last month I was on a two day job for Automobile Magazine, shooting the cover and cover feature for the July 2010 issue. The first day we started in the desert, drove through the mountains, and wrapped up at the beach! Definitely one of the cool things about living and shooting in LA. Follow the jump for the cover image prior to layout, as well as a few more from the shoot!

2010 Tour of California

Scott Dukes Photography photographs the 2010 Amgen Tour of California.

This past Sunday marked the end of the 2010 Amgen Tour of California, and this time around we were fortunate enough to have the three last stages in or around Los Angeles! This race is quickly becoming ‘grand’ in its own right, and by far the closest in North America to the European tours. Here are some images shot from Stages 6 and 7. Follow the jump for some more action!

Shifting gears

Scott Dukes Photography rides his bike in the San Gabriel Mountains.

Sorry for the poor, yet fitting, metaphor. Here’s a look at my first road cycling test image, shot last week in the San Gabriel Mountains. When not working or eating, I play some soccer and road bike a bit, which has got me wanting to shoot some sports/athlete images in the same style as my car stuff. Will be updating the blog with more as they come. And by the way, lycra-clad fellow in the photo is me! Big thanks to my girlfriend Josie for the co-art direction and manning the shutter release.

2011 Scion xB

Scott Dukes Photography PR images of 2011 Scion xB

Here’s a look some PR images, shot last month for Scion, of the just released 2011 xB. Pretty similar to the previous model at first glance, but definitely takes on a slightly more aggressive front end and more importantly, they have put the reverse lights back where they belong! Follow the jump for a few more images!

Dirty South

An oldie but a goodie! Shot while waiting at a stop light. Roscoe’s on Gower in Hollywood.

Kent Katich for ESPN.com

Scott Dukes photography shoots Kent Katich for ESPN.com

Sometime last year (or late ‘08?) I had the opportunity to photograph the Los Angeles Clippers at their practice facility in Playa Vista, CA. To my surprise, yoga is a pretty big thing for NBA players when it comes to training. The man at the right of the frame, Kent Katich, is a household name when it comes to instructors. ESPN.com recently did a piece on him and picked up the image above for it. Follow the link for the full article!
